The partnership aim to deliver the best service possible to users of the Building Control service.

To assist in this, in addition to the advice available by contacting the partnership directly, this website offers guidance and information for anyone wishing to find out more about building control in England and Wales and submit your applications on line. You can also take advantage of useful interactive housePlanning Portal Interactive House to assist in assessing whether Building Regulation Permission is required for your proposed development.

Applications can be submitted online via the Medway Council Building Control eforms system using the sub-menus on the left, depending the type of application you require. Once you have completed the various screens, a credit card/debit card payment can be made. Please note that Medway Council eforms system does not accept payment by American Express and cannot accept payment online by Electron or Maestro International cards.

Preferred methods of submitting documents online

To help us process your application more effectively and prevent delays, please ensure that all plans and drawings:
  • include a scale bar on the plan;
  • specify the plan sise from which the original scale was taken, eg 1:50 @ A3, 1:100 @ A4 etc.

Preferred file types

The plans or drawings that you attach to the electronic application should be of the following type:
  • .pdf
  • .tiff
  • .doc
  • .jpg
  • .jpeg
  • .bmp

Copyright

Plans, drawings and material submitted to the Partnership are protected by the copyright acts (1988, section 47). You may wish to consider marking your work with the international copyright symbol © followed by your name (or your company name) and the year the document was created. This can deter potential infringers of copyright and help your case in any future infringement proceedings.
